Prakash Jha is the director of the MX Player original Aashram, an Indian Hindi-language crime drama web series. Under the banner of Prakash Jha Productions, Prakash Jha produces it. The protagonist of the story is a godman named Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol), whose adherents (mainly from the underprivileged areas of society) have unwavering confidence in him and will do whatever he commands of them.
In truth, he is a con artist who makes sure his followers give him their money and remain devoted to his ashram for the rest of their lives. Due to his large following for their vote bank politics, politicians Hukum Singh (Sachin Shroff) and incumbent CM Sundar Lal (Anil Rastogi) compete for Baba Nirala's support in the upcoming State Legislative Assembly Elections. This competition only intensifies after a pop singer named Tinka Singh (Adhyayan Suman) decides to go on tours with Baba Nirala to promote his new song.
Before he meets Dr. Natasha (Anupriya Goenka) in a case involving a skeleton discovered on the premises of an industrial firm with strong ties to Sundar Lal, SI Ujagar Singh (Darshan Kumar), a police officer who has little interest in his work and merely follows his superiors' orders, is a police officer who has little interest in his job. As a result of her persistent nagging and a small-time journalist named Akhivendra Rathi aka Akki's (Rajeev Siddhartha) obstinacy, he and his senior constable assistant Sadhu Sharma (Vikram Kocchar) decide to take on this case.
